With nine returning athletes the Centre Track Team is hoping to build on successes from last year, and improve numbers at the annual state track meet in Wichita this year.

On the boys' side, Xavier Espinoza is the most decorated on the team with trips to the state meet the last two years. Last year he took sixth in the 100 Meter Dash, won the regional championship in both the 100 and in the long jump, and was also the Wheat State League champion in both those events as well. As a senior, he will long jump, run the 100, and he plans to run the 400 Meter as well.

Aidan Svoboda also qualified for state and will focus primarily on the 1600 Meter Run.

On the girls' side, Cailey Barney, Alyssa Espinoza and Samantha Espinoza, all sophomores, are all returning letter-winners. Barney will long jump and run the 400; Alyssa Espinoza will triple jump, and Samantha Espinoza will long jump; and all three of them will run in both the 4 x 100-meter relay and the 4 x 400-meter relay.

As far as the team goes, Centre will have less than half of the events covered with athletes so it will be difficult to accumulate team scores.
